Custom remodel and Additions – Bedroom, Master Bedroom, Walk in Closet and Master Bath

Project Description:
Custom home remodel and 500 square foot addition to house.

Comments:
Regal Concepts did about a 500sqft addition to our house along with some remodeling to the existing part of the house. We added a bedroom, master bedroom with a walk in closet and a master bathroom. I should mentioned we have a 3 year old and when the project started, a 2 month old, and we lived at our house the whole time. From start to finish Paul was there to answer any questions, make sure we felt good about everything, and offer advice on things. He truly cares and took the time to make sure we were happy. His core crew, Alex and Jose, were extremely polite and had great attention to detail. They worked very cleanly and made sure the house was livable for us at the end of the day. We highly recommend Regal Concepts!

Complete remodel – Kitchen and Laundry Room

Project Description:
Complete remodel of the  kitchen and laundry room.  Additional lighting and moulding for the dining room and dining nook.

Comments:

We had a very outdated kitchen with horrible flourescent lighting, pink tile/countertops and cheap laminate cabinets.  We love to cook and entertain, so wanted to open up the kitchen to the family room/bar area, and make room for an 8 burner Viking range. While existing electrical and plumbing prevented us from fully opening up to the family room/bar area as hoped, the pass through we were able to get works wonderfully and I think the change in design helped to define the kitchen as a separate work area. Paul and his team were great. They showed up promptly each morning and cleaned up each evening.  We did have some unexpected issues, but with a remodel of this size we figured this would be the case.  Paul was able to offer us viable options, and the end result is spectacular.  We are very pleased with the work that was done and plan to use him again for another project.

Custom Kitchen Remodel

Project Description:
Complete kitchen remodel: demolition, plumbing and electric, cabinet installation; countertop, backsplash, and tile installation; cabinet and appliance install.

Comments:
The kitchen remodel was a great experience and that was due to Paul and his crew. Paul is always on time and returns calls in a timely manner. The estimate was accurate and less expensive than other contractors. Paul and his team are all highly skilled and the work is of high quality. This is my first kitchen remodel and I relied heavily on Paul for design considerations as well as material. He is easy to work with and gives great advice.

Custom Bathroom Remodel

Description:
Our work is still in progress. Paul Lyttle and his crew at Regal Concepts and Designs are doing a wonderful job of totally redoing all three of our bathrooms at our home in Escondido, CA. He is also putting in new floors, replacing doors, taking down a partial wall, and adding another. Redoing our kitchen is next on the list.

Comment:
Paul Lyttle is not only a knowledgeable professional, but a true artisan of woodworking. We still live in Iowa while Paul and his crew at Regal Concepts and Designs are working on our home in Escondido, CA. He keeps in touch by phone and e-mail, sending us pictures of their work and ensuring that we are part of any decision. One of the things I valued most about Paul is his way of providing insight on what works and what looks good, while valuing our input and giving us what we want — really even better. If you want someone who is super trustworthy, has great taste and ideas, and superb skills, Paul Lyttle at Regal Designs & Concepts is who you want to do your work. Home Remodeling – General

Project Description:
Entire Home Remodel. Complete kitchen and dining room redesigned to a great room.  Demolition of kitchen, dining room bedrooms and baths. Major reconstruction of walls involving new wall framing and design. All drywall removed with only two by fours remaining.  All new doors including rough framing. This was a MAJOR project that needed to be performed to the city of Del Mar construction practices.

Comments:
We love the gourmet kitchen, the renovation of the original space and the new bathroom. It was a great experience. We had never gone through anything like this before and we are so grateful for Paul’s knowledge and suggestions for a wonderful outcome. Except for the changes we asked for, Paul held to his cost structure and the project was done within budget. Without hesitation we would recommend Regal Concept and Designs.

Custom Remodeling – Kitchen & Bath

Project Description:
Wall removal, base and ceiling moldings, new windows, glass sliders – one of which was 17 feet long with three separate doors, travertine tile and wood flooring, bathroom remodeling with added shower stall, new additional space (interior hallway, office and portico with encasements and columns: est. 500 sq. feet) and relocated new fireplace.

Comments:
It went extremely well.  Paul is a meticulous craftsman and the remodeling included perfect eyebrow archways with encased moldings and columns as room dividers and a relocated, new fireplace.  Because of his superior craftsman work, Paul would be classified as the “finisher”.  Since he is European born and “London Guild” trained, it shows. The architect, with whom he works, is first class.  He and his architect tied in a very difficult, exterior design to incorporate the portico with the existing mansard parapet roofing.

The project was on schedule and came in on budget. The attention to detail was excellent, all of the workmanship was of the highest quality. We would definitely recommend Paul to anyone.

Complete Custom Kitchen Remodel

Project Description:
Complete kitchen remodel (design and installation) of a 1914 craftsman home with a gourmet kitchen including wet bar, 2 refrigerators, pot filler over the stove, and eat-in kitchen space including hide-away TV. All electrical, gas, cable and plumbing gutted and re- located. Custom cherry cabinets with pull-out drawers and range hood which utilized every square inch of space. Solid granite counter tops and ivory, marble tile, subway-pattern back splash. Built 12 ft custom buffet in adjacent dinning room with build in wine refrigerators and cherry cabinets to match kitchen. Also built custom linen and wardrobes in Master Bedroom.

Comments:
Best kitchen in the neighborhood from both a functionality and ascetics standpoint. Paul worked patiently with us to get every detail of the design we wanted, in a relatively small space. Construction went smooth and they were there consistently until the job was done. Timing of some of the sub-contractors took a little longer than expected and an ice maker needed to be re-installed.  Not the cheapest but worth the price. Renovation was completed in 4 months and we have a FANTASTIC and BEAUTIFUL kitchen we enjoy every day!!!

Home Remodeling – Kitchen Remodel

Project Description:
New kitchen. Deep cherry wood cabinets, exotic granite, and great crown molding.

Comments:
We are at the very end of a full remodel of our kitchen. We picked Regal for several reasons. First, we knew a friend who had Regal remodel her kitchen and she was very pleased. Second, Paul’s bid was reasonable considering that a different company had bid the job $35,000 dollars higher and a third bid was around Paul’s price, but our friend’s recommendation and our initial meeting with Paul sealed the deal.

His bid was clear and covered all of the items we wanted replaced. His crew was friendly, efficient, and worked diligently. They protected the area with heavy paper with heavy cardboard on top. The kitchen was demo’d in a day!

The best thing about working with this company is the quality of work and the attitude of Paul and his crew. They all really want you to be left with an excellent product and if changes come up, they are very willing to work with you to get the changes accomplished. Paul was excellent at listening to any changes we brought up and then explaining the pluses and minuses of doing the change.

We are just ecstatic about our new kitchen. It is so beautiful with deep cherry wood cabinets, exotic granite, and great crown moulding. The kitchen is a warm, gorgeous, inviting area in our house now, thanks to Paul. We are extremely pleased with the project and would like to express our gratitude to Paul and his crew for making it happen.

Custom Remodeling – Custom Kitchen & Bathroom

Project Description:
We had a complete kitchen remodel, with the kitchen gutted all the way to the drywall and our island removed.  We had new cabinets, electrical boxes moved, new island with a built up eating area, new gorgeous granite, new convection microwave, a beautiful La Cornue range, and new lighting.  We accepted Paul’s bid which was the most reasonable one we received.  We had one bid for $30,000 more than Paul’s for doing the same things.  The contract was clear and called out the payment details. Another contractor wanted $35,000 just to redo the cabinet doors and the face frames.  For most of the job, things went very smoothly.  We did have some delays, but they were do with
1) getting 3 slabs of granite which we had to pick out 4 times because they would only have 2 slabs and we would have to wait for the next set of slabs which didn’t look like the ones we liked.  Or picking out 3 slabs only to get them to the manufacturer who called us because the granite had polishing circles on it. Or
2) the cabinet manufacturer was 3 weeks late getting the cabinets to us.
But these things were out of Paul’s control.

What he did do was keep his crew working on other things while we waited for the items to come in.  One thing that was very refreshing was that Paul was very level headed and didn’t get upset over things we wanted to change.  He didn’t take things personally. He would consider it, talk to his crew to get their input on the pluses and minus of the change and then talk to us to make sure we wanted to do it.  He wanted us to get everything we could and worked hard to make that happen.  He is a professional contractor and acts like it.  The kitchen is beautiful.  We are so happy with it.  It just feels comfortable and also feels like it fits in with the rest of our house.  The cabinets are a deep cherry and they have many things designed into them to make them functional, yet gorgeous.  The crew did a great job replacing the large , slate tile around the island after they pulled it up.  The kitchen really trips our trigger.  Thank you, Paul and your crew, for making our dream kitchen a reality.

Comments:
We were extremely happy with the end product Paul and his crew from Regal Concepts and Design provided. They helped us create our bathroom remodel and backyard concrete slab. From the start Paul was up front and highly helpful in turning our ideas into reality. His costs were reasonable and competitive with the rest of the contractors we contacted for this project. His crew was polite, thoughtful, and extremely clean. Whenever we were stuck on deciding between options, Paul always discussed all the options and was humble about his opinion on style (he never pushed us in a direction we were not willing to go). Paul is also very knowledgeable about local vendors for supplies related to our project. We will gladly reach out to Paul and his crew if we have any remodeling needs in the future.

Comments:
We have been completely satisfied with Paul and his crew at Regal Concepts, and recommend them highly to everyone we know. We first met Paul while looking for a contractor to remodel our bathroom and do some needed home repairs, and were immediately impressed with his extensive knowledge of home remodeling and construction, his skills as a wood craftsman, and his suggestions for remodeling. When we decided to undertake a more extensive remodel, we worked with Paul and an architect he recommended to come up with a plan for an interior/exterior remodel that would great improve the functionality and aesthetic appeal of our home, and Paul and his team carried out the remodel. It was a highly interactive process, with constant communication; Paul always responded to our phone calls and emails very quickly, and updated us on a regular basis. We were particularly impressed by how he would present several alternatives for most situations, describing pros and cons and covering a range of budgetary options. We had originally considered hiring an interior designer, but decided that this was unnecessary, due to Paul’s excellent eye for design. Paul’s team was great, and has been working with him for years – we especially enjoyed working with Arcadio (who seems to know how to do everything, from fine woodwork to plumbing/electrical work to roofing) and Carlos, who is an expert tile installer. The quality of the work, and in particular the wood cabinets/moldings and tile, is really outstanding, and whenever we raised a question about something or requested a minor modification, it was quickly addressed. Although we started the project with a focus on the interior remodel, we were so happy with Regal’s work that we kept adding projects, including the front porch addition and the stone patio – and then we decided we might as well have Regal repair our falling-apart garage. Detailed price quotes were always provided, and Paul coordinated all permitting with the architect and oversaw meetings with inspectors. The complete project took exactly one year from start to finish; three to four months had been estimated for the initial interior remodel, and that was a fairly accurate estimate. When we tell people we remodeled ourhome, we often hear horror stories about their experiences with contractors – but that was the opposite of our experience. We can’t imagine a better contractor/team than Paul & Regal. Paul and his team were hard-working, extremely pleasant, responsive, skilled, helpful, and honest. You could probably find someone to do the work cheaper, but we thought the cost was extremely reasonable for what we got. You definitely get your money’s worth with Paul & Regal, and you will actually enjoy the remodeling experience (at least as much as that’s possible!).
